The aim of this study is to determine the participation levels of parents whose children attend basic education according to the opinions of parents and teachers. In order for the child to achieve the desired success in his education, first of all, school-family cooperation is required. Families cannot educate their children properly without the help of schools and schools without cooperation with families. The research is in a descriptive research model. The population of the research consists of 4826 teachers working in primary and secondary public schools in Bağcılar, Başakşehir and Esenler districts of Istanbul during the 2018-2019 academic year, and parents whose children receive education in these schools. The sample consists of 151 teachers and 129 parents who voluntarily participated in the study. In collecting data, parents and teachers' demographic information was questioned in the first parts of parent and teacher scales. In the second part, Epstein's (1989) Family's Participation in Education Scale, which consists of 42 items and sub-dimensions of parenting, communication, volunteering, learning at home, and decision making, were used to apply to parents and teachers.The findings obtained from the responses of teachers and parents in the study were analyzed using the SPSS program. Frequency, percentage, standard deviation and arithmetic mean values were found for the data. In the evaluation of quantitative data, t-test, One-Way Anova Analysis and Post-Hoc Scheffe tests to determine the source of the difference were used to determine whether there was a significant difference between them. According to the findings obtained; Parents' participation in education was found to be moderate according to the opinions of teachers and parents.
