APPLICATION OF NURSING CARE USING THE PACED MODEL TO THE INDIVIDUAL DIAGNOSED WITH DEPRESSION: A CASE REPORT

Abstract

Introduction: Depressive symptoms and depression are among the most common mental disorders. Depression is associated with higher rates of morbidity, mortality, and suicide among mood disorders. Depression in women is twice as common as in men. It is important to adopt biopsychosocial approach services for people with depressive disorders. The use of nursing interventions is also of great importance in improving the care of individuals holistically. In this regard, using nursing models in the interventions to be applied ensures that the care process is of high quality and specific to the individual in line with evidence-based information. Case Report: According to the paced model, it is emphasized to support the patient in recognizing the ability of patients to cope with their symptoms and in choosing the support they need after discharge. In this case report, the symptoms and coping skills of a patient diagnosed with depression who was hospitalized in a psychiatry clinic were handled on the basis of a paced model and an individual nursing care was presented.

DEPRESYON TANILI BİREYE PACED MODEL’ İ KULLANILARAK HEMŞİRELİK BAKIMI UYGULANMASI: OLGU SUNUMU

Abstract

Giriş: Depresif belirtiler ve depresyon yaygın olarak görülen ruhsal bozukluklar arasındadır. Depresyon duygudurum bozuklukları arasında, daha yüksek morbidite, mortalite ve intihar oranları ile bağlantılıdır. Kadınlarda depresyon erkeklere göre iki kat daha sık görülmektedir. Depresif bozukluğu olan kişiler için biyopsikososyal yaklaşım hizmetlerinin benimsenmesi önemlidir. Kişilerin bakımını bütünsel olarak iyileştirmede hemşirelik müdahalelerinin kullanımı büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu bakımdan uygulanacak müdahalelerde hemşirelik modellerini kullanmak kanıta dayalı bilgiler doğrultusunda bakım sürecinin kaliteli ve bireye özgü olmasını sağlamaktadır. Olgu Sunumu: Paced modeline göre hastaların semptomlarını ile baş etme becerilerini tanımalarında ve taburculuk sonrası ihtiyaç duyulan desteklerin seçilmesi konusunda hastaya destek olunmasını vurgulamaktadır. Bu çalışma psikiyatri kliniğinde yatarak tedavi gören depresyon tanılı bir hastanın semptom ve başetme becerileri paced model temeli ile ele alınmış ve bireysel bir hemşirelik bakımı sunulmuştur.
