A rare cause of macroscopic hematuria: Schistosomiasis mimicking bladder cancer

Abstract

Schistosomiasis is a parasitic enfestation affecting urinary bladder in urogenital system. It is not a common disease in Turkey, and it is usually seen in Africa, Middle East and especially in Eigypt. The case is 27 years old male who has a macroscopic hematuria for one month. Ha had worked in Malawi, a South Africa country

Abstract

Şistosomiazis paraziter bir enfestasyon olup ürogenital sistemde en sık mesaneyi tutar. Ülkemizde oldukça ender görülür. Afrika ve Orta Doğu özellikle de Mısır’da en sık görülür. Olgu; bir aydan beri makroskopik hematürisi olan 27 yaşında erkek bir hasta idi. Sorgulamasında iki yıl süre ile Güney Afrika ülkelerinden Malawi’ de görev yaptığı öğrenildi
