Abstract

Akut skrotum etyolojisinde epididimoorşit, appendiks testis ve epididimis torsiyonu gibi öncelikle medikal tedavi gerektiren sorunlar olduğu gibi testis torsiyonu gibi acil cerrahi müdahale gerektiren durumlar bulunmaktadır. Bu yazıda, 17 yaşında şiddetli skrotal ağrı nedeniyle acil servise başvuran Duchenne muskuler distrofili DMD erkek hastada, beklenenin aksine nadir olarak görülebilecek, testisin 7 tam rotasyonu sonucu oluşan testis torsiyonu sunuldu. Literatürde yeterli veri bulunmamasına rağmen, muskuler distrofili olgularda torsiyon etyopatogenezinde rol oynayan kas doku tutulumu ve bunun yerine adipoz dokunun yer alması nedeniyle bu olgular testis torsiyonuna yatkındırlar

A case of testicular torsion with muscular dystrofia patient

Abstract

Acute scrotum is defined as acute painful swelling of the scrotum and its contents accompanied by local signs and general symptoms including spermatic cord torsion, torsion of apendicular appendage, epididymo-orchitis and trauma. In this case, we report a 17 years old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrofia DMD attended the emergency service with scrotal pain. Extremely rarely, the patient have testicular torsion with 7 times rotated testis contrary to expectations. Although the data is inadequate, muscular dystrofia may cause torsion because of effecting muscle tissue that takes apart of torsion etiology
