Abstract

Double J üreteral stentler uzun zamandır üroloji pratiğinde kullanılmaktadır. Bu stentler güvenli ve pratik olmakla beraber vücutta uzun süre kalırlarsa taş oluşumu, üriner sistem infeksiyonu, böbrek fonksiyon kaybı gibi yan etkilere sahiptir. Bu yazıda, unutulmuş bir double j stente bağlı gelişen proksimal migrasyon ve hidronefrozu literatür eşliğinde tartışmayı amaçladık. Biz double j stentlerin unutulmasına bağlı gelişen ciddi problemlerden kaçınmak için bu olguların kesinlikle bilgilendirilmeleri ve uyarılmaları gerektiğini düşünmekteyiz

Proximal migration and hydronephrosis due to a forgotten double J stent: A case report and review of the literature

Abstract

Double J ureteral stents have been used in urological practice for a long time. Even though use of these stents is practical and safe, undesired problems such as stone formation, urinary tract infection, kidney dysfunction may develop in case of their long stay in the body. In this study, we discuss a forgotten double j stent and related proximal migration and hydronephrosis, in light of the related literature. We think that cases with double j stents should be informed and warned strictly to avoid serious problems due to forgot of these stents
