Objective: In the present study we aimed to investigate the potential effect of obesity on postoperative outcomes and complications in patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy PNL . Materials and Methods: 428 patients who underwent PNL in our clinic between 2009 and 2014 were included in our study. Patients were evaluated in 4 groups according to body mass index BMI . Group 1 included normal weight BMI 30 kg/m2 and group 4 included morbidly obese BMI >40 kg/m2 patients. Postoperative success was defined as stone free or residual fragments < 3mm. Four groups were compared for operation time, intraoperative bleeding, floroscopy time, hospitalization time, postoperative analgesic requirement, nephrostomy time, postoperative success rates, blood transfusion, and other major and minor complications.
