Abstract
In this study on amateur fishing activities were carried out in Elazig for first time; people who are in occupation of the
province's wetlands (Keban, Karakaya Dam Lakes, Hazar Lake and other small wetland areas of the province) as an
amateur fishing in the region and the general socio-demographic characteristics were examined some structural features
of the amateur fishing. Applied for the supply of the data, the field survey. In addition to this general pattern, with direct
observations and interviews with amateur fishermen, some results have were reached. According to the findings of the
amateur fishermen in the province of Elazig, almost all (94.6%) did not have an amateur fishing license. According to the
results for Turkey with reference to the province of Elazig a large majority of the amateur-called illegal ameteur
fishermen said. However, according to the results of this research, in the province of Elazig 63% of those fishing for sport
