Giant ureterocele and vesicoureteral reflux to the same ureter of a duplicated system: Case report

Abstract

An ureterocele is a cystic dilatation of the distal part of the ureter. Eighty percent of ureteroceles are seen in the ureter draining the upper pole of a complete ureteral duplication. Generally, the ureter with ureterocele is affected by obstruction, while the other ureter is affected by vesicoureteral reflux. In this report, we present a case that is rarely encountered in the literature, with a duplicated system having a giant ureterocele and a megaureter, and reflux to the same ureter.

Duplike sistemde dev üreterosel ve aynı üretere reflü: olgu sunumu

Abstract

Üreterosel üreterin distal kısmının kistik dilatasyonudur. Üreterosellerin % 80’i komplet üreter duplikasyonunda üst polü drene eden üreterde görülür. Genelde üreteroselin bulunduğu üreter obstruksiyon nedeniyle etkilenirken, diğer üreter vezikoüreteral reflü nedeniyle etkilenmektedir. Biz burada literatürde ender olarak görülen, dev üreterosel ve megaüreter ile aynı üretere reflü olan duplike sistemli bir vakayı sunmaktayız.
