Öz

Increased concentration due to bank failures and government takeovers in the
banking market causes profitability in Turkish banking sector. Moreover, privatization
of state banks has been a failure for three decades Lack of competitive
forces in the Turkish banking industry attracted significant foreign entry into the
market
