Selim Kaya, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics Engineering at Gümüşhane University, Türkiye. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Karadeniz Technical University in 2013, specializing in atomic and molecular physics. His research interests include atomic and molecular physics, X-ray and gamma-ray spectroscopy, radiation–matter interactions, nuclear radiation shielding, and computational physics. Dr. Kaya has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conference proceedings and has participated in several funded research projects. He serves as a reviewer for numerous international journals and actively contributes to editorial and academic quality assurance activities. His current research focuses on advanced radiation shielding materials, spectroscopy, and interdisciplinary applications of physics and engineering.

Assoc. Prof. Negin Melek is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Gümüşhane University, Türkiye, where she also serves as the Head of the Telecommunications Division. Her research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, biomedical signal processing, healthcare analytics, and telecommunications systems. She has authored numerous scientific publications in national and international journals. She actively serves as a reviewer for various SCI, SCI-Expanded, and other internationally indexed journals and continues her teaching and research activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Hatice Çatal Reis is an associate professor at Dept. of Geomatics Engineering at Gümüşhane University.
Hatice obtained her PhD from the Department of Geomatic Engineering at Yildiz Technical University and was a visiting researcher at the University of Melbourne.
Her research focuses on pattern recognition and the application of artificial intelligence, particularly in image processing, medical disease detection, crack detection, vegetation health assessment, earthquake analysis, and building health assessment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Turan Uysal received his B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from İnönü University (2008) and worked as a Research Assistant in the same department between 2010 and 2018. He conducted postdoctoral research in Mineral Processing Engineering at Istanbul Technical University in 2019 and later served as the Mineral Processing Group Coordinator at Munzur University’s Rare Earth Elements Research and Application Center (2021–2023). Since 2024, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Mining Engineering at Gümüşhane University, and in 2025 he was a visiting researcher at the Indonesian National Research Center (BRIN) focusing on rare earth elements.
His research focuses on ore beneficiation and rare earth elements, particularly hydrometallurgy, solvent extraction, and techno-economic evaluation of mineral processing routes. He has taken part in EU and TÜBİTAK (1001, 3501, 2218) projects, led a TÜBİTAK-3501 project, and contributed to multiple institutional research projects. He is the author of more than 18 SCI-E indexed journal publications.
Abdullah Kaygusuz was born in Polatlı (Ankara) in 1967. He completed his primary education in Çaykara (Trabzon) and his secondary education in Araklı (Trabzon). He received his Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University in 1989, his Master's degree in 1992, and his Doctorate (PhD) in 2000 from the same university.
Between 1993 and 1998, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Geological Engineering (Institute of Science) at Karadeniz Technical University, and between 1998 and 2000, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Geology at Gümüşhane Engineering Faculty. From 2000 to 2012, he served as an Assistant Professor, and from 2012 to 2018, as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geological Engineering at Gümüşhane Engineering Faculty. He received the title of Professor in 2018 and currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Gümüşhane University. His areas of expertise and research include mineralogy-petrography, mineral chemistry, isotope geochemistry, magmatic petrology, geochronology, and plutonic-volcanic rocks. To date, he has served as a project manager and researcher in TÜBİTAK, BAP (Scientific Research Project), and DPT (State Planning Organization Project) projects. He is married to Çiğdem Kaygusuz and has two children.
Nafiz MADEN is currently working on the geostrategic importance of Turkey's surrounding seas such as the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Black Seas. His expertise areas are gravity, magnetic, heat flow, and tectonics of the Eastern Pontides. He also worked on the crustal structure of Turkey and the surrounding seas, the observations of the northern lights (Aurora Borealis) in Anatolia/the Middle East, and the secular variation of the magnetic declination angle in Turkey.
