A Conceptual Framework Proposal on the Benefits and Barriers of Industry 4.0 Technologies

Öz

Although more than a decade has passed since the emergence of Industry 4.0, there is still a need for studies to understand the benefits, risks, and factors that facilitate or hinder its adoption. In this study, the benefits, barriers, facilitating factors, and risks of Industry 4.0 technologies were examined through a literature review and content analysis. For this purpose, 26 articles were included in the study. According to the study's results, several different factors were highlighted, with some standing out in terms of benefits and barriers. The main benefits of Industry 4.0 are increased efficiency, mass customization, and reduced costs. The primary barriers are the lack of standards and reference architecture. Based on these results, this study proposes a conceptual framework for Industry 4.0 technologies, focusing on their benefits, facilitating and hindering factors, and risks.

Endüstri 4.0 Teknolojilerinin Getirileri ve Önündeki Engeller Üzerine Kavramsal bir Çerçeve Önerisi

Öz

Endüstri 4.0'ın ortaya çıkışından bu yana on yılı aşkın bir süre geçmiş olmasına rağmen, hala bu devrimin getirileri, riskleri ve geçişi kolaylaştıran ya da zorlaştıran faktörlerin anlaşılmasına yönelik çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Endüstri 4.0 teknolojilerinin getirileri, zorlaştırıcı, kolaylaştırıcı etkenler ve riskler literatür taraması ve içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla 26 adet makale çalışmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre; belirtilen birçok farklı faktörün yanı sıra bazı başlıklar getiriler ve engeller noktasında ön plana çıkmıştır. Endüstri 4.0’ ın mevcut getirilerinden başlıcası verimlilik artışı, kitlesel özelleştirme ve maliyetlerdeki azalıştır. Temel engeller ise; standartların ve referans mimarinin eksikliğidir. Tüm bu sonuçlardan yola çıkarak bu çalışmada Endüstri 4.0 teknolojilerinin getirileri, zorlaştırıcı ve kolaylaştırıcı etkenler ve riskler ekseninde kavramsal bir çerçeve önerilmiştir.
