Herbal Treatment in Menopause

The digest has been prepared to review available clinical evidence on herbs used in treatment of menopause symptoms. Effectives of Humulus lupulus, Vitex agnus-castus, Dioskorea vilosa, Linum usitatissimum, Pinus pinaster, Turpgillere ait sebzeler, Cimicifuga racemosa L., Angelica sinensis, Oenothera biennis L., Hypericum perforatum L., Panax ginseng, Ginkgo biloba, Glycine soja, Trifolium pratense and Piper methysticum herbs were assessed for treatment of menopausal symptoms, in the studies. It was concluded that herbs used as alternative supplementary treatment for menopause symptoms have a limited effect, thus herb studies to contribute to available literature which constitute evidence are needed in order to assess effectiveness of herbal treatments for menopausal symptoms.
