Editor in Chief
Dr. Fikret Er received his BSc in Statistics from Anadolu University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He completed his PhD in Statistics at the University of Leeds, England, between 1995 and 1999, under the supervision of Prof. John T. Kent and Patrick D.L. Constable. Dr. Er worked as a research assistant and assistant professor at Anadolu University, Faculty of Science, Department of Statistics, between 1993 and 2013. He began working as an Associate Professor at the Open Education Faculty in 2013 and was appointed Professor in 2018.
He teaches Statistics, Data Mining, R Programming, and Graphical Data Analysis. Dr. Er become Professor of Quantitative Decision Methods in the Department of Business, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 2025. He also serves as the Head of Anadolu University’s Institutional Data Management and Analytics Office.

Dr. Ali Ozdemir is a Professor at Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Quantitative Methods. Dr. Ali Ozdemir completed his Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods at Anadolu University. His research interests include "Statistical Analysis", "Multi-Criteria Decision Making". He conducts statistics, operations research and data analysis courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Sinan AYDIN is an Associate Professor of Open and Distance Education at Open Education Faculty, Anadolu University. Dr. Aydin, who completed his bachelors and masters education in Industrial Engineering gained his Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods at January, 2008. He has been teaching database management systems, computer programming and business analytics courses. He is working on applications of AI and ML in open education system.
Seyda Urfalıoğlu Sahin is a research assistant at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Anadolu University. After completing her bachelor's and master's degrees in econometrics, she pursued a PhD in the field of quantitative methods. She works in the fields of Econometrics, Panel Data Econometrics, Statistics, Multi Criteria Decision Making

Dr. Aylin Öztürk is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Machine Learning Department, Carnegie Mellon University, and an Assistant Professor at Anadolu University. She specializes in learning analytics, AI-driven feedback systems, and machine learning applications in education. Dr. Öztürk earned her Ph.D. in Distance Education from Anadolu University, focusing on predicting academic performance and developing AI-based feedback mechanisms. She has contributed to learning analytics, data-driven interventions, and AI-enhanced educational technologies.

He was born in 1969 in Ilgın district of Konya. He graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Statistics in 1992, having started his studies there in 1988. During the 1991-1992 academic year, he completed a Teacher Training Certificate Program (Pedagogical Formation) at the Faculty of Education of the same university. He completed his military service as a reserve officer in 1993-1994. He worked as a civil servant from June 1997 to January 2014.
During his civil service career, he received in-service statistics training at the Turkish Statistical Institute in Ankara in 1997-1998, graduating first in his class. In 2003, he received training in Applied Statistics at Middle East Technical University (METU).
Between 2001-2003, he completed a non-thesis Master's degree in Statistics at Ankara University, Institute of Science, and between 2004-2006, he completed a thesis-based Master's degree in Statistics at Ankara University, Institute of Science.
Between 2008 and 2013, she completed her PhD in Biometry and Genetics at the Department of Animal Science, Institute of Science, Ankara University. She received her PhD in 2013. Her doctoral thesis, "Time Series Analysis and its Application to Traffic Accident Data," was declared the thesis with the highest publication score and was awarded a prize.
In January 2014, she was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Bingöl University. In 2020, she received the title of Associate Professor in the Department of Biometry and Genetics within the field of Animal Science. She became a Professor in 2025.
In 2023 and 2024, according to research conducted by Stanford University in the USA, she was included in the ranking of "The World's Most Influential Scientists" and was in the top 2% of this list.
Dr. Erdener Özçetin is a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Hitit University. His expertise lies in decision support systems, group support systems, high-performance computing, machine learning algorithms, optimization and bioinformatics. Dr. Özçetin has contributed significantly to GPU‑based optimization with meta-heuristic algorithms, machine and deep learning-supported applications. His work spans both theoretical optimization and practical domains such as health and real industry applications.

Dr. Bülent Batmaz has been serving as a lecturer at Anadolu University’s Open Education Faculty within the Economic and Administrative Programs since 1995. Dr. Batmaz earned his bachelor's degree in 1993 from the Department of Statistics at Anadolu University’s Faculty of Science and Letters. He completed his master’s degree in 2002 in the Department of Quantitative Methods in Education at Anadolu University’s Institute of Social Sciences. In 2018, he was awarded a doctoral degree from Eskişehir Osmangazi University’s Institute of Science in the Department of Statistical Information Systems.
Dr. Batmaz has taught various undergraduate and graduate-level courses, including but not limited to Fundamental Statistics, Business Statistics, Operations Research, Research Methods, Big Data, Data Mining, and Social Network Analysis.

He graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He completed his master's and doctorate studies at Anadolu University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He works as an assistant professor in Eskişehir Technical University, Vocational School of Transporatation, Rail Systems Electric-Electronics Program. He also works in the Graduate Education Institute, Rail Systems Engineering and Electrical-Electronics Engineering Departments.
Tooba Saleem is currently serving as Lecturer at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. She has worked in different research projects with renowned national and international research organizations like USAID, UNESCO, DFID, UNICEF and GFA in different capacities (tool developer, data analyst, data collector, academic tutor and report writer). She has teaching experience in formal and non-formal higher education institutions.She is currently working on exploring the problems of Online Learning Management System and Learners' motivation to use it as tool of communication. In this regard basically, Secondary data base and qualitative data are found to be more useful tools to get information.
Hasan TÜRE completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Statistics at the Faculty of Science, Selçuk University, from 1998 to 2002. He earned a master's degree in the Department of Statistics at the Faculty of Science, Ankara University, from 2002 to 2005, and another master's degree in the Department of Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Gazi University, from 2003 to 2006. His Ph.D. in Econometrics was also obtained from the same faculty at Gazi University, where he studied from 2006 to 2013. In 2020, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor. His research interests include artificial neural networks, multi-criteria decision-making techniques, fuzzy logic, and time series analysis.
Arzdar Kiracı completed her undergraduate education at METU Faculty of Engineering-Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and his master's and doctorate at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University. Working in the fields of Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Operations Research, Business Statistics, Arzdar Kiracı currently continues her academic career at Siirt University.
Eğitimde ölçme ve değerlendirme alanında araştırmacıdır. Araştırmalarının odak noktasını ölçme araçlarının geliştirilmesi, eğitsel değerlendirmeler, elektronik ortamlarda değerlendirme süreçleri ve üst düzey düşünme becerilerinin değerlendirilmesi oluşturmaktadır. Karabük Üniversitesi Eğitimde Ölçme ve Değerlendirme Anabilim Dalı Başkanı olan Kurnaz, birçok kuruma (üniversiteler, MEB Ölçme ve Değerlendirme Merkezleri, özel okullar, özel ve kamu sektörlerindeki özel işletmeler) erken çocukluk dönemi değerlendirmesi, test ve madde oluşturma, ölçme araçlarının geliştirilmesinde yöntem ve istatistik, araştırma yöntemleri ve istatistik konularında eğitim ve seminerler vermiştir. 2014 yılından bu yana lisans düzeyinde eğitsel değerlendirme ve gelişim psikolojisi, yüksek lisans ve doktora düzeyinde ise araştırma yöntemleri dersleri vermektedir. Yüksek lisans ve doktora düzeyinde tez çalışmalarına danışmanlık yapmıştır.

N. Selin Copgeven is a research assistant at the Faculty of Open Education at Anadolu University. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies at Anadolu University. After completing her bachelor's, she earned a Master's degree in Distance Education from Anadolu University, focusing on learning analytics, data visualization, and dashboards. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Distance Education and conducting academic research on AI-based gamification.
