Important morphological changes in the blood cells of prepupa and pupa of A. segetum were observed during the course of metamorphosis from the periodic slide preparations. Prohemocytes. plasmatocytes. adipohemocytes, spherulocytes, oenocytoids and crystal cells were observed during prepupal stage as well as larval stage. During pupal stage only prohemocytes, plasmatocytes and adipohomocytes were observed. An increase in breakage of cells happened from the begining of prepupal towards pupal stage. On the other. hand, sometimes regeneration and mitosis division in hemocytes was also observed. Moreover, during prepupal and pupal stages, large quantitiy of crystals was also found among the broken cells in hemolymph. During both of the prepupal and pupal stages plasmatocytes were found playing an active role in the course of metamorphosis.
A. segetum prepupa ve pupalar ı ndan haz ı rlanan seri preparatlarla ba şkalaşı m süresince kan hücrelerindeki önemli morfolojik değ iş imler gözlenmi ş ve gösterilmiştir. Prepupa dönemi süresince larva döneminde görülen prohemocyte, plasmatocyte, adipohemocyte, spherulocyte, oenotytoid ve kristalli hücrelere rastlanm ış t ı r. Pupa dönemi süresince ise sadece prohemocyte, plasmatocyte ve adipohemocyfiere rastlanm ış t ı r. Prepupa döneminin ba şı ndan pupa döneminin sonuna doğ ru hücrelerde artan parçalanmalar olmu ştur. Bununla birlikte baz ı günlerde hemocyte'lerin tekrar yenilendikleri ve mitozla bölündükleri görülmü ştür. Ayr ı ca prepupa ve pupa döneminde hemolimf içerisinde parçalanm ış hücreler aras ı nda fazla miktarda kristallere de rastlanm ışt ı r. Gerek prepupa gerekse pupa döneminde yap ı lan incelemelerde ba şkalaşı m s ı ras ı nda plasmatocytelerin aktif olarak rol oynad ı kları görülmüştür.
