The Effect of Wear on Flow Rate Increase of Cone Nozzles Made of Different Materials

Abstract

In this study, the effect of nozzle wear on flow rate increase of cone pattern nozzles made of different materials were investigated. A test stand was constructed for nozzle wear. Test stand consist mainly of a tank, pump, pressure regulator, pressure gauge, and pipes containing nozzles. For nozzle wear tests contucted in laboratory, both a 1 % copper oxychloride suspension and water kaolin clay mixture containing 60 grams of kaolin clay per liter of water were used. All tests were made at a spray pressure of 6 bar. Flow rate measurements of nozzles were made before and after wear operation. Test results with two different tank mixture showed that ceramic nozzle was the most resistant to wear. Test results with 1 copper oxychloride suspension indicated that plastic and stainless steel nozzles were same resistant to wear.

Abstract

Bu çal ışmada, farkl ı malzemelerden yap ı lan konik hüzmeli memelerde a şı nman ı n verdi art ışı na etkisi araşt ı r ı lmıştı r. Meme aşı nmas ı için bir deney düzeni oluşturulmuştur. Deney düzeni başl ı ca depo, pompa, bas ı nç regülatörü, manometre ve memelerin ba ğ land ığı borulardan olu ş nlaktad ı r. Laboratuvarda yürütülen meme a şı nma denemeleri için hem % 1' lik bak ı r oksiklorür süspansiyonu, hem de litresinde 60 gram kaolin kili bulunan su-kaolin kili karışı m ı kullan ı lm ışt ı r. Bütün denemeler 6 bar bas ı nçta yap ı lm ışt ı r. Aşı nmadan önce ve sonra memelerin verdi ölçümleri yap ı lm ışt ı r. Iki farkl ı depo karışı m ı ile yap ı lan denemeler, a şı nmaya karşı en dirençli memenin seramik meme oldu ğ unu göstermiştir. % 1' lik bak ı r oksiklorür kar ışı mı ile yap ı lan denemeler, plastik ve paslanmaz çelik memelerin a şı nmaya karşı dirençlerinin ayn ı olduğ unu göstermiştir.
