Yedinci Sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler Dersindeki Değerlerin Kazanılma Düzeyinin Çeşitli Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi (Erzurum İli Örneği) / Investigation of the Level of Gaining of the Values in the Seventh Grade Social Studies Curriculum against Several Var

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, yedinci sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde yer alan “farklılıklara saygı, vatanseverlik, estetik, dürüstlük, bilimsellik, adil olma ve barış”  değerlerinin kazanılma düzeyinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modelinde tasarlanan araştırmanın evreni Erzurum il merkezinde öğrenim gören 7294 yedinci sınıf öğrencisinden, örneklemi ise amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik kullanılarak belirlenen 29 okulda öğrenim gören 965’i kız ve 919’u erkek olmak üzere toplam 1884 yedinci sınıf öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak 35 madde ve 7 alt boyuttan oluşan “Değerler Eğitimi Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans (ANOVA) analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda öğrencilerin cinsiyet değişkenine göre dürüstlük, adil olma ve barış değerlerine ilişkin görüşlerinde kız öğrencilerin lehine, anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu, anne öğrenim durumuna göre farklılıklara saygı değeri, izlenen televizyon programı türüne göre dürüstlük, bilimsellik ve barış değerlerinin kazanılma düzeylerine ilişkin öğrencilerin görüşlerinde 0.05 önem düzeyinde farklılaşma olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract: In this study, it was aimed to examine the extent at which the students could acquire the values such as "respect for diversity, patriotism, aesthetics, integrity, being scientific, fairness and peace" included in the curriculum of the social studies course for the seventh grade (secondary school). This is a descriptive study. The population of the study consisted of 7294 seventh graders attending secondary schools in central Erzurum. Study sample was selected from 29 schools on the basis of maximum variety as a purposeful sampling method. As a result, a total of 1884 students participated in the study, 965 of whom are girls and 919 males. As data collection tool, the “Values Education Questionnaire” was used. The questionnaire consists of 35 items and 7 subscales. For data analysis, t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) analysis were used. Results showed significant difference for females in relation with values of honesty, fairness and peace. Also respect for diversity revealed difference among students at significance level of 0.05 according to the variable mother's educational status. Lastly, it was found out that students’ views regarding acquisition levels of honesty, being scientific and peace differed at significance level of 0.05 according to the type of television programs watched.
