A Patient with Munchausen Syndrome Presenting with Suprapubic Tissue Defect: A Case Report
Abstract
Munchausen syndrome is a rare psychiatric disorder in which the patient consciously plays the role of the patient and seeks constant attention and often interventional medical treatment due to an artificial, repetitive and exaggerated physical or mental illness or injury that is completely selfcreated. In this case report, we present a rare case of a patient who was previously thought to have leukocyte adhesion defect, but was subsequently diagnosed with Munchausen syndrome. The patient was referred to our clinic with recurrent dehiscence of the surgical incision in the suprapubic
area, and debridement and primary repair was performed.
