The flora of Mezraa/Turkey district and its surroundings

Abstract

This research covers the Flora of Mezraa District and its surroundings Beytüşşebap-Şırnak . As a result of the field survey carried out between 2009 and 2010, 1827 plant specimens were collected. According to the taxonomical investigation of these materials; 409 species, 132 subspecies and 71 varieties belonging to 253 genera and 57 families were determined. A total of 612 taxa were collected from the area. 3 of total 612 taxa belong to Pteridophyta division and 609 taxa state in Spermatophyta division. All taxa belonging to Spermatophyta division belong to Angiospermae subdivisions. Dicotyledoneae and Monocotyledoneae include 513 and 96 taxa respectively. A total of 49 8 % endemic taxa have been determined from the area. The phytogeographic distribution of the recorded taxa from the area is as follows: Irano – Turanian 299 48.85% , Euro – Siberian 34 5.56% , Euxine 7 1.14% , Hyrcano-Euxine 4 0.65 % , Mediterranean 22 3.60% and phytogeographic region unknown as well as multi-phytogeographic 246 40.26% . During this study, Bromus danthoniae subsp. pseudodanthoniae, Allium giganteum and Ferula angulata subsp. carduchorum were recorded as new taxa for Turkey. Moreover Allium shirnakiense was described as a species new to science
