Assessment the Promachus leoninus Loew 1848 (Diptera: Asilidae) Species, with COI and NADH2 Gene Regions, with New Locality Records in Anatolia

Abstract

Promachus leoninus Loew 1848 is known to be distributed just in the western part of Anatolia for a very long time. In the present study additional information is given about the distribution of this species with a new and previous localities map. Assessment of new populations evaluated phylogenetically with the COI and NADH2 gene regions. As a result of this analysis the new populations are grouped into 3 different diverging populations. Genital features and habitus of the male specimen are photographed
