Investigation of Saleable Product with Decrepitation and Briquetting Methods from –3 mm Emet Colemanite Concentrator Tailing

Öz

Among the main problems of borate companies, the storage cost and environmental hazards caused by waste materials are significant. To reduce the most reasonable these problems is use to tailing disposal production technologies keeping in mind the economic factors. For this purpose, -3 mm tailings from Eti Mine Works General Directorate  Emet Boron Works Espey Colemanite Concentrator Plant were calcined and briquetted with boric acid. The saleable briquetted-colemanite products with an assay value of %43 B2O3 and dimension of 30 mm diameter and 30 mm height were produced from -3 mm Espey-Emet colemanite tailing by laboratory scale decrepitation and briquetting process. When the residual heat-treated clay material is evaluated in the ceramic industry, the non-waste technology is determined to be possible.
