The purpose of this study was to determine the convenience of aerobic tests which are used to evaluate VO2max of junior basketball players. 15 junior male basketball players voluntary participated to this study, however; 13 participant (14.78±0.41 year-old with the height 186.23±5.90 cm, weight 73.84±9.09 kg, Body fat percentage 10.30 ± 4.67 %, training age 5.54 ± 0.78 year) completed all measurement procedure. The VO2max was measured with gas analyzer during the incremental test on motorized treadmill.  During the Multi-Stage Fitness Test (MSFT), Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level I (YIRT1) and Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level II (YIRT2) total distance, maximum heart rate (maxHR) were recorded then predicted VO2max values were calculated. All tests were performed with 48 hours intervals. Before all tests subjects lied supine position for 5 minute to record resting heart rate (restingHR). There was very large correlation between VO2max, MSFT and YIRT2 performance (r = 0.88 and r = 0.78, respectively), also large correlation was found between VO2max and YIRT1 performance (r = 0.66). This study concludes that all three field tests have a significant relation with VO2max and treadmill performance, but MSFT and YIRT2 are more appropriate than YIRT1 for determining VO2max and endurance level of elite young male basketball players. Only YIRT1 can be suitable for determining endurance performance.

Bu çalışmanın amacı VO2maks’ın tahmin edilmesinde kullanılan aerobik testlerden,
hangisinin yıldız erkek basketbolcular için uygun olduğunu araştırmaktır.
Araştırmaya 15 yıldız erkek basketbolcu gönüllü olarak katılmış, 13 katılımcı (ortalama ± s.s., yaş
14.78±0.41 yıl , boy 186.23±5.90 cm, vücut ağırlığı 73.84±9.09 kg, vücut yağ
yüzdeleri 10.30 ± 4.67 % ve antrenman yaşı 5.54±0.78 yıl) tüm ölçümleri tamamlamıştır. Katılımcıların
VO2maks değerleri basamaklı artan koşu bandı testi sırasında gaz analizörü
aracılıyla laboratuvar ortamında ölçülmüştür. 20m Mekik Koşu Testi (MKT), Yo-Yo Aralıklı Toparlanma Testi
Seviye I (YIRT I) ve Yo-Yo Aralıklı Toparlanma Testi Seviye II (YIRT2)
sırasında toplam kat edilen mesafe, maksimum kalp atım hızı (KAHmaks)
ve tahmini
VO2maks değerleri ölçülmüştür. Tüm testler 48 saat
ara ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tüm denemelerden önce katılımcıların sırt üstü
yatar şekildeyken 5 dakika dinlenim kalp atım hızı (KAHdin)
kaydedilmiştir. MKT ve YIRT2 performansları ile
VO2maks arasında yüksek düzeyde korelasyon tespit
edilmiştir (r =
0,88 ve r = 0,78). VO2maks ile YIRT1
performansı arasında orta düzeyde korelasyon bulunmuştur (r = 0,66). Çalışma
sonucunda üç saha testinin de
VO2maks  ve koşu bandı testi performans sonuçları ile
anlamlı ilişkilere sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ancak MKT ve YIRT2
testlerinin elit yıldız erkek basketbolcuların
VO2maks ve dayanıklılık düzeyinin
değerlendirilmesinde, YIRT1 testinin sadece dayanıklılık düzeyi değerlendirmede
daha yakın sonuç vereceği düşünülmektedir.
