Gebelerin Doğum Öncesi Bakım Memnuniyeti ve Doğum Korkuları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi: Bir Devlet Hastanesi Örneği

Abstract

Öz Giriş ve Amaç: Doğum öncesi bakımdan memnuniyetin sağlanması, bakımın sürekliliği adına önemlidir. Bakım sürecinde uygun yaklaşımlar yoluyla doğum korkusu ve diğer sorunların azalması sağlanabilir. Bu araştırmada, gebe izlem polikliniğine gelen gebelerin doğum öncesi bakım memnuniyeti ile doğum korkuları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Kesitsel tipte olan araştırma İstanbul’da bir devlet hastanesinde 410 gebe ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında Gebe Bilgi Formu, Doğum Öncesi Bakım Memnuniyet Ölçeği ve Doğum Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışan gebelerin, ilk gebeliği olanların ve önceki doğum şekli spontan vajinal doğum olanların Doğum Tutum Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamalarının daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Gebelerin Doğum Öncesi Bakım Memnuniyet Ölçeği puan ortalamalarında ise gebelik haftasına ve doğum sayısına göre anlamlı fark belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca Doğum Öncesi Bakım Memnuniyet Ölçeği alt boyutları ve toplam puanları ile Doğum Tutum Ölçeği puan ortalamaları arasında negatif yönde orta düzeyde ilişki saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Gebelerin doğum öncesi bakım memnuniyetlerinin yüksek olması doğum korkusunun azalmasına katkı sağlamaktadır. Bulgularımız önceki deneyimlerin doğum korkusuna ve doğum öncesi bakım memnuniyetine yönelik olumsuz etkilerinin olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu durumda ebelerin doğum öncesi, doğum ve doğum sonu bakım sürecinde gebelere bireysel ve bütüncül yaklaşımla kaliteli bakım vermesinin önemi görülmektedir. Anne ve bebek sağlığı açısından olumsuz sonuçlara yol açabilen ve üreme çağındaki kadınlar arasında daima gündemde olan doğum korkusunun farklı açılardan incelenmeye devam edilmesi gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Ayrıca doğum öncesi bakım memnuniyeti ile doğum korkuları arasındaki ilişkinin farklı gebe gruplarında incelenmesi önerilmektedir. Investigation of the Relationship Between Pregnant Women’s Prenatal Care Satisfaction and Fear of Childbirth: A State Hospital Example

Abstract

Abstract Aim: Ensuring satisfaction with prenatal care is important for continuity of care. Fear of childbirth and other problems can be reduced through appropriate approaches in the care process. This study aimed to examine the relationship between prenatal care satisfaction and childbirth fears of pregnant women who came to the pregnancy follow-up clinic. Method: The study was conducted with 410 pregnant women in a state hospital in Istanbul. Data collection involved the Pregnant Information Form, Prenatal Care Satisfaction Scale, and Birth Attitude Scale. Results: It was found that employed pregnant women, primiparous women, and those with a previous spontaneous vaginal delivery had higher total scores on the Birth Attitude Scale. Significant differences were identified in the mean scores of the Prenatal Care Satisfaction Scale according to gestational week and number of births. Furthermore, a moderately negative correlation was observed between the sub-dimensions and total scores of the Prenatal Care Satisfaction Scale and the mean scores of the Birth Attitude Scale. Conclusion: High levels of satisfaction with prenatal care among pregnant women contribute to a reduction in childbirth fears. Our findings indicate that previous experiences have negative effects on childbirth fears and satisfaction with prenatal care. Therefore, the importance of midwives providing quality care to pregnant women with individualized and holistic approaches during prenatal, childbirth, and postpartum care processes is evident. It is thought that the fear of childbirth, which can lead to negative consequences for mother and baby health and is always on the agenda among women of reproductive age, should continue to be examined from different perspectives. It is also recommended to examine the relationship between prenatal care satisfaction and birth fears in different pregnant groups.
