Dr. Başöz is an assistant professor at the Department of English Language Teaching at Balıkesir University. She received her MA degree in English Language Teaching from Dokuz Eylül University and her PhD degree in the same field from Hacettepe University. Her research studies focus on vocabulary learning and teaching in a second language, affective aspects of learning English as an additional language, and the use of technology in EFL learning/teaching. Her recent research has focused on L2 grit, L2 willingness to communicate and directed motivational currents in a second language. She has published in various peer-reviewed international journals including System and presented papers in national and international conferences.

Dr. Gülşah TIKIZ ERTÜRK completed her undergraduate degree at Uludağ University in 2006, her master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University in 2006 and her doctorate at the same university in 2015. She worked as an instructor at Dokuz Eylül University School of Foreign Languages between 2007-2017 and at Bursa Technical University School of Foreign Languages between 2017-2018; as an Assistant Professor at Izmir Democracy University Faculty of Education, Department of English Language Teaching between 2018-2021 and at Amasya University Department of Foreign Languages between 2021-2023. She has been working at Social Sciences University of Ankara, School of Foreign Languages since 2023. Gülşah Tıkız-Ertürk, who has undertaken many different academic and administrative duties during her academic career, has many studies published in national and international refereed journals on foreign language education and conducts her studies in the field of teaching English as a foreign language.
