Prevalence Of Cigarette, Alcohol And Substance Use In Students Of Forestry Faculty Of Düzce University And Causes To Start To Use Them

Abstract

Purpose: Purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of cigarette, alcohol and substanceuse in students of Forestry Faculty of Düzce University and causes of students to start to usethem. Methods: Population of the study is 489 students of Forestry Faculty. The questionnaire of thestudy includes 24 questions about socio-demographic characteristics, 8 about smoking, 6 aboutalcohol and 7 about substance use. Results: Questionnaire applied 398 of 489 (81.4%) students. The prevalence of smoking wasfound 41.6%, alcohol use 40.3% and substance use 9.3%. The causes of begin to use alcoholand substance were determined as; the effects of social environment, affectation from othersand curiosity.Conclusion: The prevalence of smoking, alcohol and substance use in university students andthe causes of students to start to use these substances have to be determined to prevent

Düzce Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi Öğrencilerinde Sigara, Alkol Ve Madde Kullanımı Sıklığı Ve Kullanmaya Başlama Nedenleri

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Düzce Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin sigara, alkolve diğer bağımlılık oluşturan maddeleri kullanma sıklığını ve kullanmaya başlama nedenlerinibelirlemektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmanın evreni ve örneklemi Düzce Üniversitesi Orman Fakültesi’ndeokuyan 489 öğrencidir. Araştırmanın anket formunda, sosyo-demografik özelliklerle ilgili 24soru, sigara ile ilgili 8 soru, alkol ile ilgili 6 soru ve madde kullanımı ile ilgili 7 soru bulunmaktaidi. Bulgular: Orman Fakültesinde okuyan 489 öğrenciden 398 (%81.4)’ine anket uygulandı.Sigara içme sıklığı %41.6, alkol %40.3 ve madde kullanımı %9.3 olarak bulundu. Sigara vealkole başlama nedenleri; çevre etkisi, özenti, merak, arkadaş etkisi olarak belirtildi. Sonuç: Üniversite öğrencilerinin sigara, alkol ve madde kullanım sıklıkları araştırmalarlasaptanmalı ve öğrencilerin bu maddeleri kullanmaya başlama nedenleri önlenmesi içinbelirlenmelidir
