YENİLENEBİLİR ENERJİ TÜKETİMİNİN ARTMASI EKONOMİK BÜYÜMEYİ NE ÖLÇÜDE TEŞVİK ETMEKTEDİR: OECD ÜLKELERİ ÖRNEĞİ

Öz

Bu araştırmada ekonomik büyüme ile yenilenebilir enerji tüketimi arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 36 OECD ülkesinin 1991-2019 arasındaki dönemi Sabit Etkili Driscoll-Kraay (1998) standart hatalar tahmincisi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları yenilenebilir enerji teüketiminin artmasının ekonomik büyüme üzerinde pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı etkisi olduğunu göstermiştir. Buna göre, araştırma ülkelerinde yenilenebilir enerji tüketimini teşvik edecek politikaların uygulanması ekonomik büyümeye katkı sağlayacaktır. Bu bulgu aynı zamanda enerji tüketiminin ekonomik büyümeyi arttıracağını savunan büyüme hipotezini desteklemiştir. Sonuçlar, OECD ülkelerinde yenilenebilir enerji tüketimi politikalarının sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedefleri içerisinde önemli bir rol oynadığını göstermiştir. Araştırmada işgücü oranları ve dışa açıklığın ekonomik büyümeyi pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı etkilediği gösterilmiştir. Buna karşın, yatırım oranlarının ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi anlamsız bulunmuştur.
