THE USE OF THE ER:YAG LASER FOR DEBONDING IN ALL CERAMIC RESTORATIONS

Öz

Objective:The aim of this review was to investigate the litheratures about removing all ceramic restorations by using Er:YAG laser.

Methods:In our study Pubmed database was searched by entering the keywords; “laser debonding veneer” (n=6), “laser crown removal” (n=48), “Er:YAG laser ceramic” (n=189).   From 2000 to 2018, all studies within the scope of SCI were determined. Seven clinical studies reporting a total of 15 cases and 9 in vitro experimental studies were included.

Conclusion:Debonding with Er:YAG laser of all ceramic restorations is a promising treatment protocol. Further clinical trials and studies are needed to determine the precise laser parameters and duration of irradiation that could be used for removal of ceramic restorations with varying thicknesses.

ER:YAG LAZERİN TAM SERAMİK RESTORASYONLARDA DEBONDİNG AMACIYLA KULLANIMI

Öz

Amaç: Bu derlemenin amacı, tam seramik restorasyonların çıkarılmasında Er:YAG lazerin kullanıldığı çalışmaların değerlendirilmesidir.

Metod: Çalışmamızda Pubmed veri tabanında “laser debonding veneer” (n=6), “laser crown removal” (n=48), “Er:YAG laser ceramic” (n=189) anahtar kelimeleri girilerek arama yapılmıştır. 2000 yılından 2018 yılına kadar SCI kapsamındaki tüm çalışmalar belirlenmiştir. Toplamda 9 adet in vitro çalışma ve 15 adet vaka içeren 7 adet vaka sunumu çalışması değerlendirilmiştir. 

Sonuç: Tam seramik restorasyonların Er: YAG lazer ile çıkarılması umut verici bir protokolüdür. Farklı kalınlıktaki seramik restorasyonların çıkarılması için kullanılabilecek lazer parametreleri ve süreyi daha net belirleyebilmek için daha fazla klinik ve deneysel çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.
