AN ATTEMPT TO DEFINE AND DISTINCT FREQUENTLY USED CONCEPTS IN MASS-SPORTS

Abstract

OBJECTİVE: Due to theorethical formation of sports sciences, the demand for an appropriate field lenguage and terminology is increasing. Frequently used concepts in mass-sports are often confused and used interchangeably. The object of this presentation is to define and distinct the concepts.

METHODS: The terminology of sports sciences has to address to the colloquial speech and scientific terminology. Therefore concepts concerning this have to be treated with the justification of the colloquial speech and requirement for formal exatness. Scientific, theoretical methodology and theory of terminology has been used for this study.

RESULTS.Physical activity is defined as any bodily movement produced by scletal muscles that results in energy expenditure. Physical activity in daily life can be categorized into occupation, sports, household etc subgroups. Exercise is a subset of physical activity that is planned.structured, and repetitive and has a final or an intermediate objectiveAhe improvement or maintanence of physical fitness. Physical fitness is divided in total, physical and motor subgroups. Total fitness covers the motor, physical,psychological and intelectual fitness elements.

CONCLUSION.The definitions of the concepts in mass-sports have been presented to avoid confusion and misuse of these concepts. Similar studies of basic concepts of other sports scientific fields are recommended.

KİTLE SPORUNDA SIK KULLANILAN KAVRAMLARI TANIMLAMAYA VE AYIRT ETMEYE İLİŞKİN BİR DENEME

Abstract

AMAÇ: Spor biliminin kuramsal yapılanmasıyla uygun bir alan diline ve terminolojiye gereksinim artmıştır. Kitle sporunda sıklıkla kullanılan kavramlar karıştırılmakta ve sıklıkla birbirleri yerine kullanılmaktadır. Bu sunuda, sık kullanılan kavramların tanımlanması ve birbirlerinden ayırt edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır.

YÖNTEM: Bu incelemeler için bilimsel kuram metodolojisine başvurulmuş ve terminoloji öğretisinin sunduğu olanaklardan yararlanılmıştır.

BULGULAR: Bedensel etkinlik, kaslar tarafından oluşturulan ve enerji harcanmasına yol açan, herhangi bir bedensel harekettir. Günlük yaşantıda bedensel etkinlik; iş, spor, ev işleri vd. Biçimdeki alt gruplara ayrılabilir. Yüklenme; planlanan, yapılandırılan ve tekrarlanan bir bedensel etkinliktir. Sonunda ya da ara hedef olarak bedensel dinçlik amaçlanır. Dinçlik kavramı ise tam, bedensel ve devimsel (motorik) dinçlik alt gruplarına ayrılır. Tam dinçlik en kapsamlı olanıdır ve devimsel, bedensel, ruhsal ve entelektüel dinçlik öğelerini kapsar.

SONUÇLAR: Kitle sporunda sık kullanılan kavramlara ilişkin tanımlamalar, kavramların karıştırılmalarını ve yanlış kullanılmalarını engellemek amacıyla sunulmuştur. Benzeri çalışmaların, spor biliminin diğer alanlarına ilişkin temel kavramları için yapılması yararlı olacaktır.
