THE APPROPRIATENESS OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURES IN INSTITUTIONAL SPORT CLUBS IN TURKEY TO TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriateness of organizational cultures of the institutional sports clubs to Total Quality Management (TQM) in Turkey. A total of 32 clubs director in Ankara, were voluntarily participated into this study . A cuestionare included 5 criterion defined for 13 components was applied to assess the appropriateness of the organizational culture of clubs to TQM. Data was analysed by using percentage distribution. The organizational culture of the clubs included in the study was too far from TQM in 12.5 % of the clubs, it was rather insufficient 34 %. The ways of change for TQM is still being investigated and being planned in 25%. Some positive changes to transfer to TQM can be seen in 15%, and only 13.5 of them is appropriate to TQM. In other words, approximately 71% of the clubs in Turkey have not sufficient operational performance to meet the expectations of inner and outer target group.
