The Effect of Ozone Therapy on the Athletes

Abstract

Today, ozone therapy, which is used as an alternative method in the treatment of many diseases, also helps healthy people to improve their performances and rejuvenate the body. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of ozone therapy on the performance and health of athletes with oxygen-ozone mixture and major autohemotherapy method. It is thought that the results to be obtained will contribute to increase the performances of the active sportsmen and contribute to the possible work to be done. Ozone therapy can be summarized as the application of a certain amount of ozone / oxygen mixture to body cavities or circulatory system. The ozone / oxygen gas mixture may be administered intravenously, intramuscularly, intraarticularly, intrapleurally, intrarectally and intradiscally as well as topically. The most common form of ozone administration is the major autohemotherapy.
