Walls Are Talking: Investigation of the Writings on Walls in the Education Faculty Classes
Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine what is written on the walls of the classrooms of the education faculty. Research is the type of document analysis from qualitative research methods. The photographs are photographed by the researcher on the walls of the classrooms. The research was conducted in September, 2016. An eucation faculty located in Central Anatolia has been determined as the research environment. The walls of 50 classrooms used as classrooms were examined. When the classrooms were empty, the letters on the walls were photographed one by one. The walls in which the board is located have not been examined. The right and left walls and the rear wall are examined. 958 photographs were taken in the examinations. In the analysis of the data, inductive analysis was used for the thematic analysis. The photographs taken with the camera are primarily encoded. Then the codes were reached in the categories. The categories reached the theme. The data are gathered under certain themes and presented in a way that the reader can easily understand. The themes reached at the end of the research are: copy, name, politics, painting, love, other. Based on the results of the research, suggestions were made.
