Heterogeneous Multi-Vehicle Vehicle Routing: Route Optimization of Veterinarians in Animal Vaccination

Abstract

This study aims to create vehicle routes for veterinarians during animal vaccination periods and plan the vaccination process. In enterprises where livestock activities are carried out, routine vaccination practices are carried out to protect animals from certain diseases. In this process, veterinarians plan to reach livestock enterprises with vehicles to vaccinate all animals within the borders of the provinces in which they are responsible for periodic vaccination of animals according to the vaccination schedule. This study was conducted to make a fast and efficient transportation plan for veterinarians during the periodic vaccination processes of animals in Bayburt province. A mathematical model was established by taking vaccination and transportation times into account to plan veterinarians' transportation in a shorter time in Bayburt province, where animal husbandry is carried out intensively. In this model, the rotation model was established by considering the parameters of the veterinarian and the vehicles on duty. The established model will be coded in the IBM ILOG program, and possible situations will be analysed.
