Family businesses have become an indispensable player of economic activities in today’s world. Successful family businesses are especially linked with entrepreneurship and start to institutionalize by developing. Besides, advanced approaches are needed for these businesses’ success and especially financial development, and therefore, innovative approaches become important. On the other hand generally, it is witnessed that these businesses’ life spans shorten by succession. Second and third generation management is generally dominant within family businesses in Turkey and the number of female managers has started to increase. Businesses need to think strategically and innovatively for their adaptations and targets regarding competitiveness and growth. In regards, high levels of managers’ entrepreneurship capabilities provide significant contributions to business sustainability and besides financial performance via affecting innovativeness tendency in a positive way. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of entrepreneurship personality characteristics of women managers on financial performance in family companies where there are few women managers. Based on the first 500 and second 500 lists of Istanbul Chamber of Industry, it was determined that the entrepreneurship tendency affects financial performance by 79.2% positively for 114 family companies with female managers. As the level of entrepreneurship tendency increases, financial performance level also increases.
