Process modelling for quality improvement in annealing process
Abstract
The best and the most direct route to world class competitiveness for the products and services is through variability reduction on the processes. This variability reduction decreases defect rates, improves yields, lowers scrap rates, expands market potential, reduces rework, warranty costs and the difference between customer needs and process performance. A critical tool in accomplishing variability reduction is the statistical design of experiments. The purpose of this paper is to explain the theory of design of experiment method and to make an improvement on a process. In the theoretical part of the paper, the basic principles related to quality improvement, design of experiment, and annealing process is explained. In the applicaton part, a quality problem in solid chain industry is discussed and a model proposed by experimental design method is obtained, and the response surface method is used to find optimum solution to the problem. In this article the process improvement on the solid chain production is aimed and design of experiment techniques is implemented to find out the affecting factors and their influence
on the process.
