An interview with Kayla Liechty: Developing the art of collaborative piano
Abstract
The development of a musician, the teaching and training of a musician, and finally the development of a musician to fill the role of a skilled “collaborative pianist” and accompanist is a long, arduous journey. In this interview a very accomplished musician, and accompanist delves into the development of such musical talent and talks about the challenges as well as the joys and pleasures of musical accompanying other masters of their craft and outstanding performers.
