In this study, it is aimed to determine the recreational experience preferences (REP), restrictions on their participation in recreational activities, expectations from local governments for recreational activities and their satisfaction levels from recreational areas of local people living in Alanya. Within the scope of the research, the data was collected via a questionnaire form from 268 participants who visited the recreation facilities in Alanya Dim River Valley by choosing the easy sampling method. The most preferred recreational activity of the local people is to go to a picnic. However, the three most important variables that limit the participation of local people in recreational activities were identified as lack of leisure time, financial impossibilities and pollution of toilets, fountains and wash-hand basins in the region. The three most important expectations of the local people from the local administrations are the creation of new recreation areas, ensuring that everyone benefits from the facilities and making events with artistic value.
