Ips typographus that was first discovered
in 1984 in Artvin spruce forests is one of the most destructive bark beetles of
spruce forests.  The beetle in its
distribution in Europe and Turkey has killed millions of trees. Today, it has
an endemic population in Artvin spruce forest except for a limited area.
In this study, 835.5 ha forest area have been
examined where the beetle had an outbreak formerly in Hatila Valley National
Park.  Population of the beetle was
monitored during the flight period in 2014 by 105 pheromone traps. Traps were
baited with pheromone dispensers at the end of April and checked every 15 days
until the end of September. Pheromone traps were installed in pure spruce
stands or spruce dominated mixed stands between the altitudes 1265-2100 m
a.s.l., in different aspects and different distances to forest roads. Altitude,
slope, aspect, distance to forest roads, stand type and beetle density
parameters were used to produce susceptibility map of the surveyed area. As a
result, in this study scale, it’s found that pure spruce stands that are in
south aspect, between 1800-2000 m, 30o-45o slope and that
are in the first 150 m to stand edge are the most susceptible areas, and a
susceptibility map is produced.

Çalışma alanının I.
typographus
duyarlılık haritasını üretmek için yükseklik, eğim, bakı, yola
yakınlık, meşcere tipi ve I. typographus
yoğunluk parametreleri kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, çalışılan alan ölçeğinde,
güney bakıda, 1800-2000 m arasındaki yükseltide bulunan,  30o-45o eğim grubunda
yer alan, meşcere kenarına ilk 150 m mesafede olan saf ladin meşcelerinin I. typographus salgınlarına en duyarlı
alanları oluşturduğu tespit edilmiş ve duyarlılık haritası oluşturulmuştur.
