Abstract
SUMMARY
THE BLOOD LEVELS OF CHLORINATED INSECTICIDES OF THE AGRICULTURE WORKERS
Chlorinated hydrocarbons (such as DDT, BHC, Dieldrin) are not biodegradable and persist for prolonged periods in the enviroment. These compounds are extremely lipid soluble and therefore, accumulate in body adipose tissues and are classified as neurotoxic.
We observed that the agriculture spraymen's blood levels of DDT, HCH and Dieldrir* were 108±40.6, 246±106.9 and 166.8±8.34 ppb respectively. In addition we observed that they didn't know anything about hazardous effects of the chlorinated insecticides and didn't take adequate safety precautions
ÖZET
Klorlanmış insektisitier (DDT, BHC ve Dieldrin gibi) çevrede kalıcılığı olan ve canlılar için toksikolojik önemi olan tarım ilaçlarıdır. Bu bileşiklerin yağda erime özellikleri oldukça yüksek olduğu için vücutta yağ'dokusunda birikir ve nörotoksik etki gösterirler.
Araştırmamızda ilaçlama yapan tarım işçilerinin kan DDT, HCH ve Dieldrin düzeyi sırasıyla 108 ± 40.6, 246 ± 106.9 ve 166 ±8.34 ppb olarak bulundu. Ayrıca bunları kullanan kişi¬lerin klorlu i n s e k t i s i t lerin oluşturabileceği zararlar hak¬kında yeterli bilgileri olmadığını ve yeterli koruyucu önlem almadıklarını da tesbit ettik.
