In the present report a patient who applied to our emergency service with anticholinergic symptoms and diagnosed as having datura stramonium poisoning will be presented. Datura stramonium is a plant found widely in natural flora in Turkey. Oral intake of the plant may cause anticholinergic effects since it includes atropin, scopolamine and hyosiamine. Under standing and recognizing the classic signs and symptoms of anticholinergic intoxication can help clinicians to evaluate persons suffering from Datura poisoning.
Yaz›m›zda; antikolinerjik bulgularla acil servise baflvuran, hikaye ve fizik muayene ile datura stramonium zehirlenme tan›s› konan bir hasta sunulmaktad›r. Datura stramonium, Türkiye’nin hemen her yerinde do¤al florada yayg›n olarak bulunabilen bir bitkidir. Bitkinin oral olarak al›m› atropin, skopolamin ve hiyosiyamin içermesinden dolay› antikolinerjik etkilere neden olmaktad›r. Datura ile olan zehirlenme olgular›ndaki antikolinerjik etkilerin klasik belirti ve bulgular›n› bilmek, klinisyenin bu zehirlenme olgular›n› erken tan›y›p tedaviyi yönlendirmesi aç›s›ndan önemlidir.
