Purpose- The aim of this study is to determine how it has changed on the basis of scales and sectors before and during the COVID-19 period
by analysing the data obtained from the Encountered Problems and Solution Proposals survey applied to Istanbul Sworn-in Certified Public
Accountant.
Method- Istanbul sworn-in certified public accountants Economy Expectation Index and Encountered Problems and Solution Proposals
surveys applied to 13 different sectors and more than 300 companies and have been published periodically since 2017. With the data
obtained from these surveys, firms are examined by considering their scales and sectors both in terms of revenue and number of employees
in the sectors. In this study, the results of the thematic economic survey applied in April 2020 for the COVID-19 pandemic and the surveys
applied in the 2019-2021 period were compared using frequency breakdowns.
Findings- According to the findings obtained as a result of the study, problems such as shrinking demand, financing problems and cost
increase have been the most important problems for firms during and after the COVID-19 period. In particular, skilled labour and collection
problems, which were on the agenda during the COVID-19 period, decreased in the following period.
Conclusion- Within the scope of the study the problems and solution proposals were examined on a sectoral basis and evaluated on the basis
of scales. It has also been determined whether the problems revealed from the surveys are periodic or chronic in terms of the relevant
sectors.
