Children with Type 1 Diabetes in Gaza Call for Urgent Healthcare Amid Conflict
Abstract
Background/Aims: This manuscript highlights the severe challenges faced by children with Type 1 Diabetes in Gaza due to the ongoing conflict. Methods: It outlines the collapse of healthcare infrastructure, with most hospitals either non-functional or operating at limited capacity, and details critical shortages of insulin, electricity, and medical supplies. Results: The situation is worsened by widespread malnutrition and severe psychological stress, both of which complicate diabetes management. Conclusions: The article emphasizes the urgent need for international action to restore healthcare access and protect the lives of these vulnerable children.
