Aim: We aimed to investigate the insidence of restless leg syndrome (RLS) in adolescents with functional abdominal pain (FAP).
Materials: Seventy-nine adolescent patients following with the diagnosis of FAP ranging from 12 to 17 years of age in our clinic and 92 age-matched and sex-matched healty adolescents as a control group were studied. A semistructured interview guided by a questionnaire about RLS was applied to all of the participants.
Results: Sixteen (20.2%) of the patients with FAP and 4 (4.3%) patients in the control group had RLS. The prevalence of RLS was higher in patients with FAP, compared to the control group (p<0,01).
Discussion: The prevalence of RLS was higher in adolescent FAP patients than it was in the control group.
