IMPACT OF INSTITUTIONAL TRUST ON SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING: CASE OF KYRGYZSTAN

Öz

This paper analyzes the relation between institutional trust and subjective well-being. Ordered logistic regression were applied to data from the “Life in Kyrgyzstan” Survey for 2016. The results show that low trust in institutions negatively affects the personal well-being. It is associated with the worst institutional environment and ineffective functioning of institutions. The findings suggested that trust in schools and banks significantly increases the personal well-being.

Öz

В данной статье анализируется взаимосвязь между институциональным доверием и субъективным благополучием. Для получения результатов к анкетным данным исследования «Жизнь в Кыргызстане» за 2016 год была применена упорядоченная логистическая регрессия. Результаты показывают, что низкое доверие к институтам отрицательно влияет на личное благополучие. Это связано с недостаточной институциональной средой и неэффективным функционированием институтов. Также результаты показали, что доверие к школам и банкам значительно повышает личное благополучие.
