Abstract

Photography is basically the art of imaging and recording these images. Dental photography is a sub-branch of this, and has facilitated and improved the daily dental clinical practice of dentists with modern equipment and advanced technologies. It ensures that the documents are aesthetically perfect for more effective and beneficial use from a clinical perspective. Visual documentation allows the dentist to better understand the patient and evaluate the treatment process, while at the same time increasing patient motivation. It plays a critical role in supporting diagnosis and treatment planning, patient-doctor communication, educational processes and marketing. It has been reported to be used in many areas such as oral hygiene motivation, legal documentation and communication with the laboratory. Thus, the use of dental photography has become increasingly widespread and has become an indispensable part of modern dentistry.
