Treatment of Mandibular Premolar with Different Root Canal Anatomy: Case Series

Öz

Root canal system; cleaning, shaping and filling are the most important factors for successful root canal treatment. Mandibular premolar teeth generally have single root, single canal anatomy. It is rare for these teeth to have different root canal anatomy. Additional channels can be diagnosed using periapical films taken from different angles or dental volumetric computed tomography. In addition, careful examination of the base pulp after endodontic access cavity preparation, use of magnification tool that facilitates the identification of additional channels that can be overlooked. In this case report series, endodontic treatment of mandibular premolar teeth with different root canal anatomy is described.

Farklı Kök Kanal Anatomisine Sahip Mandibular Premolarların Tedavisi: Olgu Serisi

Öz

Kök kanal sisteminin; temizlenmesi, şekillendirilmesi ve doldurulması başarılı kök kanal tedavisi için en önemli faktörlerdir. Mandibular premolar dişler genellikle tek kök, tek kanal anatomisine sahiptir. Bu dişlerde farklı kök kanal anatomisinin olması nadir görülmektedir. Farklı açılardan çekilen periapikal filmler ya da dental volümetrik bilgisayarlı tomografi kullanımıyla ilave kanallar teşhis edilebilir. Ayrıca endodontik giriş kavitesi hazırlanması sonrası pulpa tabanının dikkatli bir şekilde incelenmesi, büyütmeyi sağlayan araçların kullanımı, gözden kaçabilecek ekstra kanalların teşhisini kolaylaştırmaktadır. Bu olgu sunumu serisinde nadir görülen farklı kök kanal anatomisine sahip mandibular premolar dişlerin endodontik tedavisi anlatılmaktadır.
