Yıl 2013, Cilt: 3 Sayı: 3, 82 - 94, 24.11.2013

Öz

In this study the attitudes of middle school students’ towards forest were investigated and the results were compared in terms of gender, types of school, and grades level. A total of 199 students from public and private schools were participated in the study and the data was collected through “the AttitudeToward theForest Scale” which included 32 questions.. At the end of the study, it was found that middle school students have positive attitudes towards forest. In addition, girls’ attitudes on the subject were found higher than those of male students but there was not a significant difference between grade level and students’ attititudes towards forest. For example, the attitudes of 7th and 8th grade students were found similiar. In terms of school type and students’ attitutes towards forest, students who go to public schools have demostrated higher interets on forest than students going to private middle schools.
