Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Ekin was born in Siirt in 1971. He completed his primary and secondary education in Van. He graduated from Van Technical High School, Engine Department in 1989 with the first degree. He graduated from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1995, which he entered in 1990. He completed his short-term military service the same year and was discharged in July 1996. In 1997, he was appointed as a Research Assistant at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He received the title of Doctor of Science (PhD) by completing his master's education in 1998 and his doctorate in 2004, which he started at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Veterinary Microbiology. Dr. After working as a research assistant for 2 years, Dr. He was appointed as a faculty member (Assistant Prof. Dr.). He completed his second PhD in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Food Hygiene and Technology in 2022 and received the title of second Doctor of Science (PhD). Having received the title of Associate Professor in 2013, Ekin was appointed as a Professor in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Microbiology Department in 2018. He is still working as the Head of the Department in this unit. He is married and has three children.
