The effect of motivator and hygiene factors on employee creativity: The mediating role of subjective well-being

Abstract

The study aims to investigate the relationship between motivator & hygiene factors and employee creativity, and the mediating role of subjective well-being on that relationship. It is also aimed at understanding how motivator & hygiene factors affect subjective well-being and revealing the relationship between subjective well-being and employee creativity. The study, based on Herzberg’s Motivation and Hygiene Theory, uses quantitative methods. The data was obtained using five Likert scales for motivator & hygiene factors, subjective well-being, and employee creativity. The sample consisted of 488 restaurant employees in Batman. The data were processed using SPSS and AMOS statistical software. The study findings indicate that all proposed hypotheses are supported. Some theoretical and practical implications are presented in the study.
