Toplum ve Klinik Ruh Sağlığı Psikolojik Danışmanlığının Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ndeki Tarihsel Gelişimi

Öz

Bu makale, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde toplum ve klinik ruh sağlığı psikolojik danışmanlığının tarihsel gelişimi ve günümüzdeki durumu üzerine genel bir bakış açısını sunmaktadır. Türkiye’deki psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik ile ilişkilendirilerek başlayan yazı, toplum ve klinik ruh sağlığı psikolojik danışmanlığının başlangıcından itibaren onlu yıllar halindeki gelişimi, alandaki önemli kişilerden, tolumsal hareketlerden ve olaylardan söz edilerek aktarılmıştır. Makale, toplum ve klinik ruh sağlığı psikolojik danışmanlığı ile ilgili günümüzdeki sorunlar ve gelecek için umutlardan söz ederek bitirilmiştir.

Öz

This article presents an overview of the historical development and the current status of community and clinical mental health counseling in the United States. It begins with relevance to the counseling profession in Turkey, followed by significant individuals, actions, and events that took place during each of the decades reviewed. The article concludes with concerns at the present and hopes for the future.
