Estimation of Turkey Net Electric Energy Consumption until to Year 2020 Using Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

This paper focused on estimation of the net electricity consumption of Turkey until the year 2020 using the genetic algorithm approach. Two different models namely GAETM_Lineer and GAETM_Karesel are developed based on economic indicators. The economic indicators for developed models are: Gross Domestic Products, Population, Import and Export. The models developed after the validating with actual data between 1979 and 2009 are compared with different studies
Results show that, these models are suitable for estimating the net electricity consumption of Turkey for future.
