Üçüncü Parti Lojistik (3PL) Firmanın Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreciyle (AHS) Belirlenmesi

Year 2012, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 46 - 54, 15.06.2012

Abstract

Selecting the Third Party Logistic(3PL)Firm through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

Year 2012, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 46 - 54, 15.06.2012

Abstract

Third-Party Logistics can be defined as getting the outsider firms to do some certain parts or the whole of the firm’s logistics activities except for the major activities of the firm. Business firms choose to work with the 3PL firms owing to some reasons such as; gaining competitive advantage in the global world, focusing on the major activities, reducing the costs etc. Choosing this kind of firms is not easy for the business managers in view of entering into a long-term strategic relation with the 3PL firm. In this study, we developed a desicion model for the selection of 3PL company applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) that is one of the Multiple-Criteria Desicion Making techniques. The criteria and the hierarchical structure used in the desicion model was formed by reviewing the international studies and considering the views of the experts and scientists. The pair- comparison matrices’ datas, constituted for assigning the density of the criterias, were assigned by considering the conclusion of a team of experts consisting of four people.
